Aural Rehabilitation Classes in Libertyville & Gurnee, IL

Retrain your brain to listen with confidence

Hearing aids provide sound, and aural rehabilitation teaches your brain how to use it effectively. Our group and individual classes help patients improve speech understanding, communication skills, and confidence in everyday listening situations.

We are proud to be recognized by the Better Hearing Institute for the quality of our aural rehabilitation classes, which we call Hearing Health 101.

What aural rehabilitation includes

Assistive Listening Devices

Review of available technology to reduce listening effort in difficult environments.

Communication strategies

Techniques to manage noisy settings, group conversations, and telephone calls.

Lip-reading and visual cues

Learning to integrate sight and sound for stronger comprehension.

Family education

Tips for loved ones to support better communication at home.

Who benefits

Anyone adapting to new hearing aids, struggling in challenging listening environments, or living with tinnitus can benefit. The program also helps patients preparing for or recovering from cochlear implant surgery. Because the brain continues to adapt, periodic refreshers can further enhance listening ease.
